About Me

About Yuqing (pronounced "yoo-ching"):

Yuqing is the sixth generation Chinese Medicine practitioner in her family. Both her parents were practitioners and instructors at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Having grown up surrounded by the medicine, following in her parents’ footsteps became a natural choice. Her goal is to bridge the gap between the ancient healing arts and modern healthcare.

One of Yuqing's major treatment goals is achieving optimum health through a holistic and harmonizing approach. One of the central tenets of Chinese Medicine is to consider the patient as a whole and use only what is necessary to achieve the ultimate goal of balance. She hopes to facilitate this process through acupuncture, nutrition and lifestyle counseling, and other adjunctive therapies such as cupping and gua sha.

Yuqing received her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Oregon. She also graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Oregon. Yuqing is fluent in both English and Mandarin, and challenges herself to study the classical Chinese Medicine texts in both languages.

In her free time, Yuqing loves spending time outdoors with her family - hiking, camping, and gardening. On rainy days, she enjoys books, movies, video games, and hanging out with family and friends. She has a 2-year-old son Callum, who is very rambunctious, and currently takes up the majority of her free time.
